Oxford, England at Magdalen College: The British American Dramatics Academy (BADA)

This is my study abroad, my internship, my next step in education. As a theatre major, these things are sometimes hard to explain. Here's what I have to say:
Before I knew where I wanted to attend college, I knew that I needed to study abroad. As soon as I began my freshman year, I set a plan that fit study abroad in with my theatre major credits and was responsibly affordable. However, I decided to transfer and was lucky enough to be accepted at Northwestern. Unfortunately, my credits did not transfer, so the possibility of studying abroad during the school year was gone. Finding a theatre summer abroad program is difficult, but thankfully the British American Dramatics Academy (BADA) offers a high quality and incredibly reputable summer session in Oxford. Since transferring, training at BADA is all I have wanted to do to finally gain the global perspective and artistic immersion that I have always longed for. BADA provides the rigorous, professional acting training essential for an acting career. I will be taught by theatre professionals, many who have graced the major London stages and American films (Severus Snape!), and receive the supportive pressure and real world exposure necessary as I enter my last year of college. Training at BADA will provide me with unmatched classical and contemporary movement and voice skills and lessons that will directly carry over into all work I do afterwards. More importantly, it's my one shot to travel overseas to discover who I am as an artist in the world.
Sound attractive? It is! But the only way I can do it is if I have over $6000 to pay for it. Suffice it to say, I don't. I am working the extent of my work-study job, saving every dime from extra babysitting, only buying essentials, and planning other fundraising ideas to the best of my ability. Still, I won't be able to babysit my way to $6000. I need your help!! My parents need your help! Please support the greatest opportunity I have to enhance my education and prepare myself for my career.Â
